New Straits Times, 20th February 2008

A group of Korean tertiary students were in Limkokwing University of Creative Technology recently, attending English classes at the university’s English language centre, International House (IH), for two months.

The 58 students were from Dong Yang University and Kyung Hee University respectively. Both of the universities are in Seoul.

Aside from improving their English, the students were also brought on trips to practice their English, sometimes with strangers.

They mentioned that they were glad to have experienced Malaysian cultures and traditions, especially during their trip to Malacca.

They were impressed with Limkokwing University, where cultural integration was apparent as well as the freedom of creativity the university offered. Some are planning to return to the university to further studies.

IH was established in 1998 and has been a part of Limkokwing University’s Cyberjaya campus since 2001. It specialises in the teaching and learning of English.

Meanwhile, 28 students from Ji Yang High School, Zhangjiagang, China, were at Limkokwing University of Creative Technology for a week-long trip with their vice-principal, Chen Min, and their teacher, Liu Yin.

The visitors were impressed when they were taken on a campus tour, including the library, branding gallery and business units like Wings Café, Fitofly, One World Club and Headlines.

Nga Lee Ting, 18, said: “Limkokwing University is interesting and futuristic. To me, it’s also artistic and creative. I would like to pursue my studies here in the future.”

Anna, 18, expressed her love for the Wings Café on campus. She said she had never seen a university with such beautiful café.

Lie Chao Yi, 17, said he was amazed by the campus. “This is the first time I have come across such a beautifully-designed university like this. I want to further my studies in such a beautiful university.”
